We have had lots of fun in school this week! We have all been working hard at implementing our school 'character' and I have seen ambition, perseverance and resilience shown all week! Well done to the following Teams for winning the £5 attendance rewards this week: Team AC with 98.3% Team LL with 98.7% Our whole school attendance was 93.6% - come on Team let's beat this this next week! A huge thank you to our Year 4 and 5 staff team for a successful school trip to Whitby, as part of the children's learning in Geography, where they compare Wombwell to Whitby! The children's behaviours were exceptional and impressed the public in Whitby who commented positively on their outstanding behaviors! We have had a great week in school this week altogether. The children have continued to look smart in their school uniforms and have been loving their learning! Our Early Years new starters have continued to settle in to life at WPSPS. We have held our annual special job votes this week, to celebrate Democracy Day! All of our positions are now full and we look forward to awarding the children with new badges etc! Well done to Teal LF and Team AF for their attendance this week - £5 to you! Team LF - 98.6% Team AF - 100% Whole school - 94.6% It has been interesting to have the South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Team in school this week, providing our Year 3s with the opportunity to discuss fire and health safety. They listened incredibly well and had a great knowledge about keeping themselves and others safe, which is really reassuring. Welcome back Team Park Street! It is as if we have never been away! We have had a brilliant first week back with the children, having fun, making memories and building new relationships together. The children have been absolutely amazing, settling in to new routines and new learning, with new and old friends and new staff! Years 4, 5 and 6 have enjoyed their lunch times with new equipment on the Courts and Years Reception - Year 3 have had fun with their new equipment too on the field! The children look very smart in their new uniforms - thank you parents. As the year goes on, please don't struggle for uniform as we have LOTS and there is always the bank of uniform at Wombwell's Salvation Army as and when it is open. Well done to our leading attendance teams - Team JD, Team LF and Team LL who have all achieved 100% attendance this week! A HUGE well done to our Park Streeters this week. We have had so much fun together and it has been wonderful to see the children enjoy their experiences! We have been very active this week, with cricket sessions, bike and scooter sessions, singalongs and visits to the library! We have had another successful week at WPSPS this week and have had LOTS of fun together! There has been lots happening, including Ukulele and Choir performances at the Metrodome, ice lolly sales to raise money for school funds, a 'Prevent' assembly from Barnsley LA's Prevent Officer for Years 5 and 6, Shine Cricket coaching for Team AC and Team DB, football matches with King's Oak PLC, Team CW and Team EO's summer singalong for parents and our long awaited Summer Fair! Busy, busy, busy! Our winning attendance teams for last week are: Team JF with 97% Team DB with 96.9% As a TEAM we managed to achieve 91.5% - we have been hindered by the Norovirus this last week, which is a real shame for our children. We have had a great first week back at Park Street this week. It has been lovely to see the children and families again after a short break. We are right back in to working hard and producing excellent standards of work once again! A massive well done to our Years 2s this week who are working hard on their KS1 SATS! They have all attacked the papers so far with big smiles on their faces!
