This week we turned Team AC classroom into a historical dig site, seeing what artifacts we could find from the stone age. We had great fun whilst doing a lot of learning. Children found spear heads made from bone or flint, pots made from stone, jewellery made from shells and much more.
In art we stayed in the stone age and made our own cave paintings of our hands, we talked about how people communicated in the stone age and cave paintings were a way of recording their day or leaving messages for the next people to come along to the cave. Well done Tean AC lots of chatting with partners and sharing ideas and incredible work. This week it is road safety week. In team AC we have been learning how to be road safe and how we should always: Stop Look Listen Think All of team AC did really well crossing the road on the school drive, keeping to our four key words as they crossed. We also had a look at some scenarios and the children said whether they were safe or not safe things to do, like riding a bike in the dark with no lights! All of the children got really involved and were really good at thinking about what was safe and not safe. Well done Team AC you should be so proud of yourselves! Today we acted out the main methods of seed dispersal and then made posters to show our understanding. We enjoyed our active and creative science lesson!
We learnt that seeds are dispersed by the wind, animals, insects, explosions of seed pods and by water. NS - "I like maths because it's fun and I'm good at it. This week we have blended art and history to create some amazing artwork, first the children coloured in the houses of parliament, after learning about the Guy Fawkes plot to kill the king. Then children decorated black paper with chalk fireworks and the houses of parliament were stuck on top. They look absolutely amazing and everyone really enjoyed getting creative, well done team AC!!
This week we have been learning about Guy Fawkes and the story of the plot to kill the king, and why we have bonfire night. Team AC took to a bit of acting to help remember the story that they had been learning, what a fantastic bunch of budding actors we have!! The children really enjoyed it and I'm sure they can tell you all about what they've learnt.
