This week Team CH have revisited previously taught sounds, 'ay', 'ee', 'igh', 'ow' 'oo' poo at the zoo and 'oo' look at a book.This week Team CH have been exploring the text 'Room on the Broom' written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. We have spoken about the meaning of new words such as 'clambered' and 'clutched'. We have been working extremely hard at achieving our Autumn objectives.This week Team CH have thought about the hyperarousal state (Thunder clouds) that we find ourselves in after dinner, and how we can be learning ready (Rainbows).This week in PE Team CH have been working towards being able to develop spatial awareness whilst moving in different directions. We really enjoyed playing 'Traffic jam'This week in maths, Team CH have moved away from using counters and straws and started to use cubes and base ten to represent ten ones. In order to deepen our understanding of how ten ones are the same as one ten we linked our manipulatives together. We have also been practising writing larger numbers and reinforcing the understanding that tens are written first most of the time.Team CH would like to wish members of the Jewish community a happy Rosh Hashanah! Happy new year.After a very busy week, our incredible Year ones have had some well deserved time to focus on their feelings while taking their pencil for a walk. Taking inspiration for this term's artist of the term Paul KleeThis week Team CH have been talking about the weather. We discussed how different types of weather makes us feel; how we should dress for different weather types and, also observed the changes of weather throughout the day.This week during literacy Team CH have continued to target our Autumn objectives. We have been busing practicing using capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. We have been very determined and focused this week in creating draft wanted posters. In order to track down the mischievous rat, before he causes any distress in Wombwell. |
