Each class has shared a summary of the exciting things they have been learning about. Mrs Longden shared this with the children during her art and design assembly. She also explored with the children what art and design is and what kind of jobs children could do if they are passionate about art. The children also made lots of really good suggestions - see below for a list of their thoughts and ideas and the presentation from assembly. What Do you like about art?

Congratulations to the children who have been voted to the role of arts councilors for their class. Can't wait to get cracking on exciting plans and activities
Team LL and AF were really disappointed when they couldn't show off their dance and artwork at the Bright Nights Festival in the town centre. Unfortunately, the children's parade was called off due to bad weather. With true Park Street resilience we invited the Fusion team and parents along to do our own parade on the school grounds instead. Wombwell Park Street is a member of the Yorkshire and Humberside Shakespeare hub. Each year we focus on one of the bards many plays and engage with creative partners to develop themes. This year the children learnt about the twists and turns of 'A Midsummer Nights Dream'. The children got to grips with the characters and plot brilliantly. We were lucky enough to engage in a workshop with Lucy Burns a visual artist. She supported the children to use collage and print making skills to explore the forest and town of Athens. The work the children produced will form part of an installation, which will be presented in the central library in town. As soon as we have dates or further information we will let you know Children worked in groups to research and explore many images of natural disasters. They applied a wide range of collage, painting, 3d modelling and textile skills to develop their natural disaster models. Children explored and applied skills learnt to convey texture, colour, form and shade. |
