This term, we have developed our understanding of how to use technology safely and respectfully. We have discussed the importance of keeping our personal information private online (e.g name, age, address) and how we must speak to an adult in school or at home if we have any worries about our safety on the internet. We have been learning about how to use search engines to retrieve information. We have used Google, Bing and Yahoo to search for information about countries in the United Kingdom and contrasting countries such as Kenya. We thought carefully about how we could ensure we were being safe when using the search engines, we always typed ‘for kids’ at the end of our search and this ensured that all the links we found were safe for us to gather our research from.
