Now school life is getting back to normal after class bubbles, the Eco Reps have been getting into the swing of things caring for our local community! The Eco Reps were lucky to be joined by local community group “Twiggs” who accompanied us on a litter pick on Park Street and surrounding area. We were completely astounded by the amount of litter we collected from such a small area, approximately 8 large bin bags! Not only were we shocked about the amount but also the types of rubbish people disposed of in the street and where they threw it! We found bottles, cans and wrappers stuffed behind the bus stop and Christmas wrapping paper amongst other Christmas rubbish in the salt bin in our local housing estate! The Eco Reps really felt they made such a difference to our community and have asked to complete another litter pick next half term as there was so much more rubbish we didn’t get time to collect. They are also wondering if the places we cleared litter from will still be litter free, so our fingers are crossed they are! They all represented Park Street wonderfully and the Twiggs team were proud of their achievements too! We would like to give a special mention to Mrs Chavan, one of our school governors, who accompanied us on our litter pick! THANK YOU!
