History in Team DB

This half term, Team DB's topic focus has been Geography. However that has not stopped them learning about all areas of the Wider Curriculum.

In history, they have studied the historical aspects of the coastal town Whitby, and then compared this with that of our own locality, Wombwell. They discovered how Whitby was a major fishing port, and even though there are still fisherman, tourism has now taken its place as being the main industry for the are. They have also learnt about the mining industry and how this affected the land and the area in which we live.

During their assembly, they shared their learning with other year groups of the school.
