Year 6

Year 6 have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Ancient Egyptians. Their learning so far has involved learning about where Ancient Egypt is situated on a modern map. They have placed the period on a timeline and discussed when it was in relation to other history topics they have learnt about. They have also considered the importance of historical sources and evidence. They explored what different artefacts might tell us about life in Ancient Egyptian times whilst considering the reliability of different evidence sources. They have also learnt about the work of archaeologists, palaeontologists and Egyptologists. They have learnt about Howard Carter and local Egyptologists Joann Fletcher and Ernest Howard Jones.
