In PE we concluded our fireworks dance topic this week where the children put together their own mini routines based on all the skills they have acquired over the half term. The performances the children created in pairs were fantastic to watch.
This half term Team JF have been working incredibly hard to learn dance routines with a theme of fireworks. This week the children had the opportunity to put all of their hard work to use and perform their routines to the rest of the class. The children were amazing at this! Their timing, pace and moves had been carefully considered and they blew me away!
As part of their P.E. learning this half term, the chidren in Team DB have been learning to improve their basketball skills. Each week, the children are lucky to have the talented Mr Smith, who teaches them the techniques to be used when participating in Basketball. The children have been learning how to dribble and how to shoot at the nets!
We have been working on dance and movement sequences for our Bright Nights visit. Our basketball skills are coming along brilliantly and we have enjoyed small sided games.
This half term we have focused on Basketball and Dance.
In basketball we have learnt skills such as dribbling, chest pass, bounce pass and blocking. over the past week we have been able to use all our skills we have learnt to have a game of basketball. We have really enjoyed a competitive game. In Dance we have loved learning Bollywood dancing. Bollywood dancing is the fusion of different dance styles including bhangra dance, hip-hop, Arabic and jazz dance. We have learnt new styles such as twist and step. We have listened to different Indian music to learn the moves to. Today Y4 had an action-packed RampUp session, where they learned crucial road safety tips and mastered new scooter skills! They spent 30 minutes learning all about road safety and then took to the ramps, trying out exciting scooting moves.
Our year 4's was so excited to join the RampUp team. We were given the chance to learn different moves using the scooter. We then played on the different ramps that had different ability levels. We had the best time. We are super dare devils in team JD.
