This week the Rainbows have been listening carefully to some classical music and have been developing their motor skills at the same time. The pictures on the screen reflect the speed and volume of the music. The Rainbows have to use their arms to trace the patterns as the colourful line moves across the screen. It goes very fast at times and some of the patterns are very tricky!
The Rainbows loved doing this and even requested to complete the activity again! They then listened to some pieces of classical music and described what we could hear. The first piece was Flight of the Bumblebee and they talked about how fast the music went at times. George correctly guessed that it sounded like a bumblebee! Some Rainbows said it reminded them of the sea in a storm and skateboarding or riding a bike really fast! They then listened to The Hall of the Mountain King and talked about how it starts of really slowly and gets faster and faster towards the end. The Rainbows thought it sounded like a big, heavy bear walking around the woods looking for things to eat!
