PE in Team CB WC 02.12.24

During their PE, this week we have been taking on the role of Marionettes. As a class, prior to the session, they looked at a series of images to support our understanding of what this toy was. The children then worked in our pairs to replicate this through dance. Sitting on the floor they took their starting position with their hands on the floor and head rolled forwards. They then imagined there was a string attached to their wrist and lifted up their hand slowly without moving any other part of our body.  We kept our fingers loose before dropping our hand back down to the floor slowly. Then they repeated this with their left hand and then both together. The children imagined moving their head from side to side and their legs in a similar way to their arms. Once they had grasped this, theythen created a short dance phrase linked to these movements.
