Development of gross motor skills is very important in nursery as they learn to control our bodies to make different movements. This morning the children had a go at ribbon dancing. They practised large scale movements with their ribbons- big circles, lines going up and down, lines going across and a curved rainbow. Then the children swapped hands so both our arms get a work out! Next they played some music and everyone enjoyed practising their moves and making up their own too. This afternoon, it was time to dance with the Tumble Tots! The children made different moves to lots of different action songs- clapping, marching, stamping, spinning, jumping, stretching, bending, touching our toes and much more! They also enjoyed singing along to the different songs.
