An amazing day was had by all our Y6 pupils, when we attended our visit to Crucial Crew. Pupils engaged in a range of scenarios and workshops organised by South Yorkshire Police, Fire Brigade and Transport. Children learnt about: youth justice and magistrates court, criminal responsibility, child criminal exploitation, hate crime, knife crime, road safety, anti-social behaviour, fire safety and water safety. Some very important lessons learnt. Our amazing Y6 team were a credit to school - well done.

Year 6 were lucky enough to work with Vicky from Compass B on a peer conflict workshop. We explored friendships and strategies to help build resilience and tolerance. This half term Team JF have worked really hard to identify a range of emotions. The children have used a variety of different books to aid their understanding of these. As learning progressed, the children started to make the connections with these feelings and themselves. We had lots of discussion around the sensations in our bodies when we are experiencing strong emotions and how we could react and respond to this. The children have become familiar with their 'inner cheerleader' and their 'inner critic'. In our PHSE session we completed our half termly focus by exploring boundaries and consent within class. We discussed personal space and being mindful of this for ourselves and others. The class then reflected on all they had learned over the half term and how this would support them in living their one life well!
