This term, during ‘Incredible Us!’ time, Team LF engaged in a wide range of activities designed to develop both practical skills and social connections. The children participated in physical game development, using a variety of equipment, which helped improve coordination, teamwork and problem-solving abilities. Creative activities, such as making their own bookmarks and engaging in art activities, encouraged self-expression, fine motor skills and patience, while also providing opportunities for children to share ideas and give positive feedback to their peers.
The children also enjoyed board games, including Twister and Kerplunk, which supported strategic thinking, turn-taking and communication skills. In Kahoot team games focused on topics like children’s movies, popular sweets, chocolate and general knowledge, Team LF practised collaboration, listening to each other’s ideas, and celebrating group achievements. Overall, these activities fostered not only individual skills such as creativity, problem-solving and coordination but also strengthened relationships with peers and staff through teamwork, shared challenges and positive social interaction, helping to build a supportive and inclusive environment for everyone.

Year 6 had the best time at Crucial Crew. We learnt about criminal responsibility, the youth justice system, road safety, hate crime, knife crime, antisocial behaviour, water safety to name but a few. Our Y6 team did us proud and listened and behaved brilliantly - they were praised by the members of the police force, ambulance service, fire service, magistrate and volunteers who worked with them on the day.
Most friendships have ups and downs, and that these can often be worked through so that the friendship is repaired or even strengthened if we know how to manage conflict, Caring friendships are important for social fitness and that children need to learn that it is normal to have ups and downs. Children need to know how to manage conflict, and that resorting to violence is never right.. In our One life lessons children learn how to be assertive and express needs and boundaries; how to manage feelings, including disappointment and frustration. This is our whole school approach to conflict resolution. Conflict Resolution Steps – we need to ADAPT! Acknowledge feelings – I am feeling frustrated because… Define the Problem – what is the real issue? Accept and encourage compromise – one little word is ‘sorry’ Practice Empathy – how does the other person feel? Thank each other for the resolution ere to edit. |
