'National Black History Month 2023 - Celebrating our sisters'
To celebrate National Black History Month, Team LF initially discussed what it means to be black and British. We focussed on Black and Mixed Heritage British women who have shaped history, learning about their achievements and accomplishments. This included influential sportswomen, politicians and activists, scientists, artists, presenters and musicians. We then dug a bit deeper into four women in particular - Rosa Parks, Nina Simone, Claudia Jones and Tessa Sanderson. We used our knowledge from Computing (systems and searching) to find out key information about these women in order to create fact files.
