During Interfaith week each class was asked to think of a meaningful act of kindness. 'Being kind and helpful' is one of out school Golden rules and we know that the children at Park Street really do demonstrate their kindness on a daily basis, but it is also important to spend time to think about the act of kindness and what we can do that might have an impact on others beyond our school. Team CW created salt dough heart decorations for Valentine's day and sold them for £1 or a donation. As a class they decided that they wanted to help children and so it was decided that money raised should go to the Tiny Hearts Appeal at Barnsley Hospital and the Bluebell Wood Children's hospice. So far the children have raised over £50 and will continue to find out about the good work that these charities do for children and to keep thinking of ways they can raise money for these causes. Team CB have also been thinking about others and decided to do an act of kindness for residents at Wombwell Care Home by baking them rabbit shaped biscuits.
Team CH decided to write letters to the residents of Parkside Care home to help cheer them after two years of isolation.
