One Life Team CW

This week in One Life Team CW have been learning about
How to make a new friend,
That we need to be good listeners and pay attention when someone is talking to us,
That we must show care and kindness to each other.

They began the lesson by singing a friendship song "This is the way we make friends." They then read the story The Friendship Bench. They talked about sometimes we can feel lonely or isolated, and that sometimes we have to keep trying a few times to make friends as it isn't always easy. We know that being a loving and caring friend means you notice when others feel left out, are sad or lonely, and you try and think about their feelings. 

They talked about what we need to do to be a good friend, and that friends should make us feel safe and happy.

We have a friendship bench in our EYFS playground and  know if someone is sat on it we can go and engage with them and be their friend. Rainbows know they can sit there if they would like some company and someone to listen to them and play with them.
