We have covered a range of topics in our PSHE lessons so far this year. - I can show I am trustworthy We spent a couple of lessons exploring what it means to be trustworthy. We explored some scenarios and then created our own moral scenarios to discuss in class. - I can select my friends based on shared interests For this objective we worked through getting to know ourselves and our peers activities, including games and activities. We explored our interests and looked at what we have in common. -I can appreciate the values and points of view of others -I can stand up for what I believe in, in a non-threatening way. For these objectives we engaged in a range of class oracy tasks and debates. We completed a diamond 9 activity where we had to suggest which of our school's key character virtues we thought were the most important. As part of our RE work, whilst learning about Buddhism we had to suggest which 5 rules we felt would make the world a better place. -I have aspirations for the future We have had the opportunity to meet people who do a range of jobs for a living. We have had the opportunity to ask questions. This has given us the chance to consider what we might like to do for a living. We have met Isobel Gorst a meteorology student studying for her PHD, members of our local community policing team, our very own Mrs Fitchett who is a professional illustrator and we have had the opportunity to speak to Mrs Lawson about what it is like to be a headteacher. I can keep myself safe in a range of situations Members of our local policing team came into speak to us about staying safe, potential risks in our local environment and what to do if we find ourselves in worrying or unsafe situations.
