This week is road safety week 25. In EYFS and KS1 classes will be reminding and teaching the importance of crossing roads with an adult, following safe instructions for crossing the road and why it is important to wear a seatbelt in a car and helmets on bikes.
We will also share messages about been safe and seen, especially as the days are getting shorter. In KS2 classes will be reminded of how to cross roads safely and what is a safe place to cross a road. Also, how paying attention, not looking at phones etc is crucial to crossing roads safely. It’s never a nice fact to hear, but road crashes are the leading cause of death for children and young people worldwide, and more than six children are killed or seriously injured on roads every day in the UK.
