Autumn Reading in Team LG

Throughout the autumn term, Team LG worked on various VIPERS skills through the use of the book Dracula, a book based on Bram Stoker’s visit to Whitby. They focussed closely on the vocabulary used to describe the characters, using this to draw inferences, backed up with evidence and began to put this into a ‘Point, Evidence, Explanation’ structure. The children enjoyed the book, particularly as it allowed them to draw on their own experience of their visit to Whitby and they could imagine the story coming to life, drawing upon the places visited in our Whitby trip.
