Spring 1 - Team EO

Over the course of the Spring term, Reception children have continued to work incredibly hard on their reading journey. Children have been accessing their appropriate Read Write Inc. (RWI) groups: some pupils have been consolidating Set 1 single-letter sounds, others have been learning Set 1 ‘Special Friends’, and some children have begun learning Set 2 sounds. Reception pupils have been practising reading CVC and CVCC/CCVC words and have also started learning tricky red words. Team EO are extremely proud of the progress Reception children are making.
The Year 1 children have also continued to access their appropriate RWI groups, focusing on consolidating Set 3 sounds and learning additional alternative spellings. Their learning journey in Spring 1 was Magical Storyland. During this half term, children enjoyed listening to a range of traditional tales and explored similarities and differences between stories. The core text was Jack and the Beanstalk.
