Team CW have had a very busy half term and have been exploring Autumn. We have been exploring leaves and learning the names of some of them. We have been learning new vocabulary to describe them and have been observing some similarities and differences between them. During Welly Walk we collected some “Autumn treasure” and brought it back to the classroom to investigate further. We used magnifying glasses to observe what we could see, using our new vocabulary to help us including; “long” “thin” “curved” “spikey” “orange” “brown” “yellow” “crunchy” “brittle” “smooth” “stem” “seed” “shell” and “veins.” We have been describing how the seasons are changing and observing what we can see around us.
On our next welly walk we collected some Autumn treasure again and created some repeating patterns. We had to observe our objects very carefully to make sure they were correct so the pattern repeated. Some of us focused on colour patterns, some of us focused on size patterns and some of us focused on a pattern with a mixture of objects.
