We have had a very tricky week in maths this week! We have started to learn about multiplication, using the language of lots of. We have been working out different ‘lots of’ 2, 5 and 10. We used arrays to help us work out what the answer would be.
Max's Marvellous Maths:
Our Max's maths group has had a very exciting week this week. We have been practicing writing our numbers and forming them correctly and matching numbers to the correct quantity.
This week we have had a look at writing lists and labels. We started our week labelling a picture of a castle we had designed ready to make. Then we wrote a list of all the things we would need to make a castle. We used bullet points in our lists and adjectives to describe what the item was like. The adjectives were really important, as when we said a box Mr Fidment tried cutting out a plastic box which didn’t really work. We then used these to write a full set of instructions so we can build our own castles.
Hello, I'm Mr Fidment. I have only recently joined the Park Street team in September and I am the class teacher in Team AF (Year 1). I have had an amazing time starting my first year of teaching and cannot wait for the year to continue! Although I enjoy teaching all areas of the curriculum, I have a passion for teaching phonics. When I am not in school I enjoy spending time with my friends and looking after a couple of pets I have.
