The beautiful thing about learning is that it has no parameters. Everyone can teach someone something they did not know.
As time flies past and we head towards the half way mark of the academic year, I decided this would be a good point for children to undertake their own learning all around time. This week we have been busy recapping our learning of reading time from an analogue clock. We have recognised and effectively used the specific language that time features and worked towards the goal of telling time to the nearest minute.
In Literacy, we have been busy writing our Anglo Saxon news reports. I must say, I am absolutely blown away with the quality of the children's writing it was utterly fantastic! I was so proud I just had to go and share it with Mrs Fitchett who had commented on the children's work the day before. These reports truly mark a milestone in the class' progress in writing, it was evident in each and every child's work and I could not be more thrilled about their attitude to the learning journey they are having!
In topic, we have spent time discovering how an Anglo Saxon village differs to our current day settings. The children were shocked to find that everyone stayed in one room in their family homes and most importantly that there was NO electricity.
