What an excellent end to another fantastic half term! This week Team CB have been busy creating their news broadcast scripts and then bringing them to life! We worked in our groups to create our own news script featuring an interview with a very important person! We then had time yesterday to rehearse and learn our lines before shooting the footage! It was a fantastic atmosphere!
Today we will be busy editing our news broadcasts using software on the Ipads ready for a preview screening this afternoon!
Again, a huge well done to Team CB who have worked their socks off this half term! They are superstars and I am proud of each and every one of them!
I hope you all have a lovely half term and I look forward to what is to come next hald term!
Prepare to be astonished! This week we planned to look at scripts and writing our own news broadcast, when what should appear in the news? Only a piece explaining that the discovery of numerous Anglo Saxon artifacts is going to re-write the history of that time!
The children unpicked the key information from the story and made notes, before being presented with the challenge of retelling the story in the form of a video news broadcast! The children discussed the structure of typical news bulletins before then planning their own sequence, paying careful consideration to who they may interview and what questions they may ask.
Check back next week to see how we get on with writing our scripts and then rehearsing and recording them to be streamed into the classroom!
What exciting news we will have to share!
We have also spent time this week further proving the existence of the Anglo Saxons by learning all about the place names that date back to their influence. We then had a go at rewriting these using Anglo Saxon runes.
Well done Team CB!
What an exciting week we have had in Class 4. This week we began a new topic centered all around riddle writing. Why you ask? Well if you were to ask one of the Racing Rockets they would tell you that this is because the Anglo Saxons and Vikings loved a good riddle to keep them entertained!
We have been reading and solving riddles to help us understand how they work, and let me say, Team CB were fantastic at them! So good in fact, I asked Mrs Lawson to come in and see! Check out her blog if you get chance as I know we have a special mention on there too!
Later in the week we had a go at planning and writing our own riddle, which was no easy task, but as always the Racing Rockets gave it their all and the end results are fantastic! Special mention to Daisy who's first clue was "You will not want to play cards with me" to help describe a Cheetah! FANTASTIC!
We have also been busy with our fractions this week and finding different fractions of amounts! GREAT WORK TEAM!
We even had time to squeeze in recreating the Roman departure and the Anglo Saxon invasion which we will screen later in the half term!
