e As Summer term gets under way, this week Class 4 made an extra special trip to the National Space Centre Museum. Here the children were given the chance to learn about all things Space! We looked at the planets that make up our solar system, the Moon and the Sun! We also had chance to explore what it would take to become an astronaut and visit Space by taking part in some space training. To add the excitement we also saw life sized replicas of rockets that may have been previously launched into space!
As a class we were lucky enough to experience the Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium where we learned more about the role of an astronaut, before learning how to make and launch our own rockets!
It was a truly wonderful day and I can't wait to see where this exciting learning takes us next!
Check out some of our pictures below!
As the end of another term approaches Team CB draw to a close another chapter of their learning! This term the class have worked incredibly hard within their Maths and Literacy and have shown fantastic skill, determination and progress in both! Not only this, but we have continued to develop our musical talents, our co-ordination in cricket, our scientific enquiry skills and our historical knowledge amongst many other things!! We certainly have been busy!
As the last week of the term draws to a close, as too does our Life in the Past topic, which saw the end of the Anglo Saxon and Viking reign. Over the last term the children have discovered a wealth of information about this time period; from the Roman departure enticing the Anglo Saxon invasion, to the Viking raids on Lindisfarne leading to a Viking invasion, and ultimately the decline of the Vikings due to the Norman conquest at the Battle of Hastings.
As a class we have participated in a Viking Day where we made Viking foods and weaponry, came dressed in clothing suitable to the time period and re-enacted the Norman Conquest and King Harold's final battle. A thoroughly great day was had by all!
Keep an eye out for what's coming up in the Summer term as we begin our science topic centered all around Space and the Solar System!
