What a truly magical half term the Racing Rockets have had!
Maths has been jam-packed with learning - from place value to addition and subtraction right through to shape! We have had some great fun this last week learning all about angles. We even took a trip around and outside school to become true angle detectives! We also got busy making 2d shapes out of cocktail sticks and playdough and describing the different types of lines they had.
Literacy has also seen the Racing Rockets soaring in their learning! From solving the BFG's dilemmas to conjouring up our own fairytales, we've done it all! We were even lucky enough to fetch our villain to life and Grizzelda the wicked witch time travelled to different points of her life to show us how she became so notoriously cruel! Something we really got our teeth into this half term was writing a setting description. The class explored the nature reserve to help them generate ideas and also investigated different soundscapes to discover where their next setting was.
In Science, we have worked tremendously hard learning about the different states of matter and took part in some really exciting experiments to help us in our learning! Who knew you could measure the gas in fizzy pop to find out which one was the fizziest? We even created our own mini water worlds to help us remember the processes of the Water Cycle!
In what has been a truly fantastic half term, the Racing Rockets have without question given 100% to their learning and I am certainly excited to see what lies in store for next half term!
Someone will need our help to get tourists visiting Spain after visiting their long lost sister!
We will be going time travelling as we explore how to tell the time!
We're going to become electricity experts and make our own functioning torches!
Somewhere in the middle of this we're going to continue or exploration of Europe
and most importantly of all
WE ARE GOING TO LOVE OUR LEARNING!
Just a quick update this week to say how fantastically proud I am of the Racing Rockets!
This week we have been recapping and applying what we have learned so far this half term and the children's resilience to learning has as always been absolutely faultless!
We continue to attack all aspects of learning with enthusiasm, determination and resilience!
Well done Team CB keep up the fantastic work!!!
I am bursting with pride once again this week! Racing rockets have been busy going from strength to strength in their learning and I could not be more proud of each and every child. We have been busy working extremely hard to understand how to use inverse to check addition and subtraction problems as well as becoming travel agents and helping customers find the best flight packages to travel around the world and advise them how much change they should recieve!
Literacy has been full of awe and wonder this week! We started the week writing a chronological character description of Grizzelda the wicked witch after her visit last week and the children did a fantastic job of using inferencing to make the reader work harder. We spent Wednesday visiting the nature reserve and gathering data for a senses walk. Who knew that the towering trees were as tall as a skyscraper or that the whistling wind violently blows the rustling leaves? Well, the Racing Rockets certainly did! Back in class we were able to write some INCREDIBLE setting descriptions jam-packed with similes, adjectives and fronted adverbials! To end the week the class will have chance to return to the nature reserve to share their stories!
We have also been working super hard this week to discover more about a healthy lifestyle and will be creating fruit poems to celebrate National Poetry Day! Pop back to see what we got up to when we used fruit to print in paint!
Anyway, lots to do here in Class 4, check back soon!
