As we round off from an incredibly busy first term, I would like to start by saying what a delight it has been to work alongside such intelligent, driven, caring and understanding children! The children have worked so incredibly hard all term and have given their learning their absolute all!
During our final week we have had our Christmas party where the children were all enthused and engaged in playing the different games, enjoying their party food and giving us a great dancing competition!
We also took part in the KS2 carol service at the local church and the Racing Rockets did not disappoint with their modernised drama of Joseph, Mary and Donkey travelling to Bethlehem! I LOVED IT! As did parents!
We were also lucky enough to have a pantomime in on Tuesday, to which the children had high praise for!
What a fantastic end to a fantastic first term!
Well done Class CB!
As Christmas is fast approaching we have had another super busy week in Team CB!
Maths has been focussed all around further developing our multiplication knowledge and we took a little peek into plotting co-ordinates in the first quadrant! We have had some great Christmas co-ordinate drawings!
In Literacy we've taken on the challenge to help our good friend in the North Pole! Santa is entering the North Pole Bake Off and needs our help to remember how to make his infamous shortbread! He's sent his elves ( Miss Baxter, Mrs Frisby and Miss Muckell) who can remember what to do but just aren't confident writers like Team CB!
Getting the ball rolling, the elves talked the class through the process of making the infamous shortbread before letting the children try it out for themselves! Let me just say they looked divine!
We then helped to record the instructions so these could be delivered safely back to the North Pole to hopefully help Santa raise the trophy!
Check back to find out how he got on!
Just a quick update to let you all know how fantastic the Racing Rockets have been this week! This week marked Assessment Week across school and I must say Team CB certainly tried their absolute hardest. Marking their work has been a true pleasure to see alll the progress they are already making!
In particular, my favourite part of assessment week has been marking the truly wonderful writing pieces all about Christmas! The class were tasked with writing a Christmas diary all about their version of events on Xmas morning! Not only did I sit with my mouth watering at how fabulous everyone's Christmas dinner sounded, but I was also amazed at the way Team CB can capture interest and maintain it throughout an extended piece of writing!
A huge well done to you all!!!
Miss Baxter is VERY proud!
