What a week of learning in Team CB! This week we have been busy looking at interesting ways of learning all about Viking villages. To help us in our quest we considered different formats that we could produce work in and decided on poetry.
To help get the ball rolling Miss Baxter took a peek at some of the Year 5 poetry that they completed from earlier in the year and came rushing back with some WAGOLL examples! Being the fabulous SPAG detectives that we are we soon realised these poems had a very particular structure to them (Adjective, noun, verb, adverb - to be specific).
Using this we took an image of a Viking village and began to explore the village scene! At the end of such a busy week finding the features of poetry, generating our own examples and writing our first draft; I am thrilled with how fantastic they are!
Just to keep the children in Team LG on their toes we've challenged them to a performance poetry battle next week!
I can't wait to see how that one goes!
