This week we began our new ICT and computing unit using the programme Scratch. We discussed that Scratch the Cat was actually what we call a 'Sprite' in computing terms and began to look at the different things we could program Scratch to do. We started off simply making Scratch move to different points on the screen and then back again. We then created a sequence which we call a Script in computing terms and tested this. Unfortunately, the first time we tried to run our scripts, they didn't go quite to plan so we had to 'debug' the sequence. This meant locating where things were going wrong and correcting this. The class absolutely loved getting to grips with Scratch and can't wait to start creating their own interactive quiz this half term, with the help of Scratch. Keep checking back for updates!
Check out our first encounter with how to use the program!
