The beautiful thing about learning is that it has no parameters. Everyone can teach someone something they did not know.
This week has been another fantastic week of hard work, dedication and resilience to learning.
We kicked off the week solving problems relating to rounding from last weeks maths and the children were able to clearly explain which columns they are interested in when rounding to the nearest 10/100/1000.
In Literacy, we began writing our independent fairy tales. Some of the work would blow your socks off! Did you know our ogre named Boggle had 'eyes as black as an abyss' according to one student? Another told me that the wicked witch had 'nails that were as curled as a spring'. What fantastic future authors we are going to have!
Meanwhile, in the afternoon we had been busy getting to grips with the rest of our curriculum. We spent time looking at the religion we will study this year. We are excited to be learning all about Sikhism! If you ask one of the class you might just learn about the story of how Sikhism began and Guru Nanak's upbringing.
In our Science topic, we investigated whether or not gases had a weight. To do this, we weighed different fizzy drinks then shook them for 1 minute. After, an adult carefully opened the bottle and allowed the bubbles to escape. We then reweighed the bottle to see how much gas was in each bottle and which was the fizziest. We discovered that Cola was the drink which had the most gas in.
I wonder what we will discover next week?
