Team CB Blog
The beautiful thing about learning is that it has no parameters. Everyone can teach someone something they did not know.
Team CB are just bursting with excitement at the incredible writing they have produced this week! As part of their ongoing learning, the class have spent this week writing their own story based around crash landing on an undiscovered planet. I have had a sneak peek and the results are incredible! The language choices, varied sentences, use of various punctuation all work in harmony to create some truly exceptional pieces of writing!
This writing is too good to miss out on so we will make sure some are put up in the classroom next week for you to cast your eyes over. You won't be disappointed.
In Maths, we have looked in closer detail at our multiplication and division facts to develop the rate and which we can recall these randomly. The children have worked hard to see links between multiplication and division through fact families and various physical and pictorial representations.
In our Science, we have been busy exploring the order and size of the planets and how they orbit the Sun. We reproduced the Solar System to scale by calculating the distance between planets and representing this through sheets of paper with a scale of 40,000,000km per sheet. We then had to research sizes of planets and order them before we selected the appropriate fruit to illustrate the planet. As a class, we then went outside to lay this out to scale and discuss the movements of the planets and the link between the closer the planet the shorter the orbit. Check out our pictures below.
