Numbers - we have been comparing numbers using language more than, less than, greater than, fewer than, equal to.

Numbers - this week we looked at subitising, which means being able to say the number of objects straight out instead of counting the objects.
We were really good at doing this with numbers 1 - 6, the numbers on a dice and on dominoes. Reading - We read Five Minutes Peace, Jill Murphey. The mummy elephant only wanted five minutes peace but her children had other ideas! Sound familiar grown-ups? Writing - We have been practising holding our pencils in a tri-pod grip to write our names. Some of us have been using paper and pencils in thew role play area to take orders for food - big Mc and Fries please! Phonics - we have been busy revisiting our single letter sounds: m, a, s, d, t, i, n, p, g, o Getting busy - we have used trains on the end of pieces of string to practice our motor skills, we have painted Peace Plates and we have had fun building dens so we have somewhere to go to get five minutes peace! Numbers - We have been learning how to make number 2, 3 and 4 from other numbers.
Numbers - we have been learning about our numbers to 10 using the song 1,2,3,4,5 Once I caught a fish alive.
