Team CC
The Brilliant Bears!

Team CC's Vision Statement

The Brilliant Bears are hard working and love to accept a challenge. We pride ourselves on making our classroom a lovely place to be. We are kind, helpful and always use our manners. We treat everyone with respect and are always caring. We work together as a team!

About The Brilliant Bears and Team CC staff

Hello, my name is Miss Clementson and I teach some of the younger children in school in Reception and Year 1. In my spare time I volunteer with Sheffield City Council as an Independent Visitor working with children in foster care. I am also a member of a medieval re-enactment society and some of you may spot me taking part in historical shows around the country during spring and summer! I am an avid pen pal and have several from around the world!

In school I am also History and RE Leader and promote these from the Early Years to Year 6. I enjoy promoting my passion throughout school (sometimes even dressed as a medieval lady!) I lead the Eco Reps and plan lots of exciting activities to help our reps care for the environment and make a difference to our community and the wider world!

Our class is called The Brilliant Bears and we strive to always follow our school rules and make our classroom a happy, exciting and lovely place to be! Mrs Clarke and Miss Millns are our teaching assistants. I also mentor teaching students from Sheffield Hallam University throughout the year. Miss Overton will be joining us this year to complete her teaching placement.

Our classroom is set up to incorporate the seven areas of the Early Years and Year 1 curriculum. Our classroom promotes enquiry and challenge within these areas. We learn by observing and experimenting and by being independent learners. We have a large playground that enables us to take our learning outside and apply our skills. We have an outdoor reading area, mud kitchen, large construction area, sand pit, digging pit and bikes, trikes and scooters.  We have our own flower bed where we will plant flowers, sensory plants and vegetables later in the year.

Every week we take part on Welly Walk in our Nature Reserve. We explore the environment and learn about changes throughout the year and have lots of exciting adventures! We build dens and hideouts during imaginative play and also help to care for the plants and animals that live in our school environment.

Key Events and Class Information.

Please send your child with a water bottle everyday. Please only fill with water and not juice.

Children are encouraged to keep their jumpers and cardigans in their bags although at times they may be misplaced. Please make sure you name all of your child's clothes clearly so we can return them.

A key skill we begin to teach in September is to become independent. Please send your child with a school bag so we can support your child to get ready for home.

Please return your child's reading book every three days so they can achieve their reading stamp and have their book changed.

Please send your child with their wellington boots every day so they can access our mud kitchen. We love to have lots of fun making memories and enjoy creating mud pies so please do not send you child in their best coat! You may wish to send your child with a named all in one waterproof suit in their bag so they can really enjoy these moments!

Please note that Team CC will have a set PE day. This will be Tuesday morning. However, occasionally due to busy timetables and changes in weather conditions, these times may be flexible. We politely request that PE kits are brought to school on a Monday and taken home for washing on a Friday.’

For PE please send your child with a plain white t-shirt, plain black shorts and black jumper and trousers for the cooler weather.

When appropriate homework and spellings will be set once a week on a Friday.

Please see our fantastic photo gallery showing all the fun we have while learning!
