It is with great pleasure that we launch 2020's Park Street's Got Talent. Well done to all involved. What an absolutely fantastic way to finish a very challenging year. Well done Team Park Street! You truly are all an amazing bunch of pupils and parents!
Please see below for some resources to support children with SEND during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hi Team AF,
Please see the attached video Miss Garratt has created. It will give you some help in responding to activities I have posted on Seesaw. Hopefully, it might support you with completing activities and sending finished pieces back to me.
You can also take a look at the following link which is a guide published by Seesaw themselves: https://web.seesaw.me/get-students-started
As a school, we are committed to ensuring your child gets the best possible education that we can offer. The current circumstances are proving to be a bit of a challenge for us all and we know that education is quite difficult at the moment whilst we are facing this pandemic.
With this in mind, we have subscribed to the online platform ‘SeeSaw’. SeeSaw is a platform that allows teachers to set home learning for each child in their class.
Over the next few days, you will be receiving an email (with an attachment of the document below) that provides you with more information about how Seesaw works and how we are going to use it as a school. You will also receive your child's log on details in this email. Please look out for this arriving in your inboxes.
As of Monday 27th April 2020, all learning and activities will be placed on Seesaw and not on class blog pages. Although we will continue to post blogs regularly, we will not be using them to the extent that we have done over the past few weeks,
Many thanks for your cooperation and understanding.
Life and parenting can be challenging in normal situations. The situation we find ourselves in currently is far from normal.
We have put together a number of useful links and documents, as well as advice on how to deal with some difficult situations you might find ourselves in. Please take a look at the information below and do not hesitate to contact school if you would like any additional information regarding these topics or anything else you need advice and support about - if we cannot help, we will know who can.
Today we will be looking at how to find one half of something. Here is the link to show you what this means.
Have a try at today.s activity. If you finish this, can you find one half of anything in your house? Maybe you could cut a piece of fruit in half and share it with a family member.
Yesterday you asked lots of questions about your favourite animal. Today I would like you to find the answers to your questions and write these in a sentence. Remember to use capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.
HAPPY SAINT GEORGE'S DAY
Today is Saint George'd Day. I would like you to find out what makes this day so special. Attached is a PowerPoint to help you. Create a poster to tell others what makes this day so special and why we celebrate it.
Today we will be looking at making equal groups by sharing. Here is a link to show you how it's done.
Have a go at completing this worksheet.
Today I would like you to ask questions about your animal. What would you like to know about your animal that you don't already know?
Write your questions down and we will find out the answers tomorrow. Remember to start with question words (who, what, where, how, when, why) and finish with a question mark.
World Earth Day
Today is World Earth Day - a day where we think about how amazing the planet we live in is! Here is a PowerPoint to help you understand what today means. Once you have looked at this, complete the activity to see how you could reduce your waste. There is also a couple of craft activities attached.
Sir Linkalot (which is a fantastic app to support spelling) is kindly giving all parents and schools free access during lockdown to enable children of all ages (4 years old upwards) to have Sir Linkalot Time at home. There will be a daily midweek 30 minute show online, starting this Thursday at 2 o'clock, on Sir Linkalot's Facebook page and Youtube channel, featuring Countdown's Susie Dent. There are two obvious benefits in using this whilst children are currently learning form home: one, it would most definitely raise their literacy levels and, two, it would make life a whole lot easier for you! It is not solely for spelling, however. It's covering the whole of the technical requirements of literacy, i.e vocabulary, homophones, punctuation, grammar, rules and patterns. So, it very much applies to older children as well.
To access the content, you can do this in one of two ways, either downloading via the App Store or on a laptop/PC. Please note, once you have downloaded the app from the App Store (small problem with Androids at the mo), tap on the log icon (for 'Log in') at the top right. You can also view it on a laptop or PC. Type in the browser itself (not a search engine)...
app.sirlinkalot.org and follow the above instructions (the log icon is for 'log in'). Further information of log on details will be sent out electronically.
Keep up your super spelling :)
Good Morning Team AF!
Today we are learning about making equal groups. Watch ' Lesson 2 - Make equal groups (grouping)'.
Here is the worksheet and answer
Yesterday we began to use adjectives to describe animals. Today i would like you to use these adjectives and apply them to a sentence. Ensure that you are using capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. I would also like you to use the conjunction 'and' to join two sentences or adjectives together.
Recently, you were all sent a username and password to access Charanga. We use this in school to support music
Whilst coronavirus is infectious to children it is rarely serious. If your child is unwell it is likely to be a non-coronavirus illness, rather than coronavirus itself.
Whilst it is extremely important to follow Government advice to stay at home during this period, it can be confusing to know what to do when your child is unwell or injured. Remember that NHS 111, GPs and hospitals are still providing the same safe care that they have always done. Here is some advice to help:
