In nursery we use number rhymes to help us with our understanding of numbers and counting. This week we are focusing on the rhyme "5 little men in a flying saucer" and we will also be revisiting "5 little speckled frogs" and "5 little ducks" from the previous weeks.
Please help your child by singing the songs at home and encouraging them to show the amount on their fingers and take one away each time.

Today the children were excited to go on our first welly walk of the year, We all put our wellington boots on and went exploring in the nature reserve. The children loved exploring the new area with their friends and especially enjoyed a game of hide and seek in the trees.
For our baking activity today, the children enjoyed decorating their own biscuit. This was great for their fine motor skills as they carefully spread the icing onto the biscuit and then added sprinkles to the top. I hope you enjoyed eating your creation!
The children who have returned to nursery this term have really enjoyed seeing their friends again and having the opportunity to play together. They have also been excellent role models for our new children which has been lovely to see.
Here are some photos of the older children engaged in learning together over the course of the week. We will include photos of our new starters once we have all the permissions. This week we are excited to welcome back some children who were with us in nursery last term as well as lots of new starters. We are really looking forward to meeting you all and we are sure you will all make lots of new friends.
This week we will be spending lots of quality time with the children; , settling them in, helping them make new friends and learning our routines. Look out for some photos of us learning together coming soon! |
