Well done to all the children for working hard with the 'Three Week Tables Challenge'. I am very proud of your excellent effort, as this is a challenging activity to take home every day.
This week we have been learning about place value. We have learnt the meaning of place value and how to draw a place value grid. We have also had lots of fun using Base Ten, representing numbers up to 100 and using them to help us with addition.
This week we have been learning how to write a recount. We have explored the different features that are included in a recount. It has been fun working in groups to complete tasks about chronological order and the past and present tense. In addition to this, we have been time adverbial detectives, exploring a mystery piece of writing that was left in our classroom.
We decided we would write our recounts about the summer holidays. The children have created a picture plan to support their writing and have started writing their first paragraph. I am looking forward to reading all the fabulous writing, when completed next week.
