Yesterday, Team EO learnt all about Remembrance Day. We talked about how soldiers help us - just as doctors, nurses, firefighters, paramedics and the police do!
The children listened carefully as they learnt that Remembrance Day is to remember the soldier who died fighting for us and to remember those still fighting to protect us. We learnt that we remember them by wearing poppies and visiting special monuments and by holding a minutes silence. We know poppies are worn as they were the first flowers to grow on the fields where the soldiers had been fighting. Today, with Mrs Fitchett children had the opportunity to make poppies. Team EO sat smartly and quietly to observe the 2 minutes silence at 11am with the rest of the school.
