The children have taken part in completing a group investigation on which materials are going to be the best to use when designing and making a boat in the style of the three ships that Christopher Columbus used to sail the oceans. When writing their predictions, the children had to use their proior knowledge of the what they already know about the properties of the materials being tested. From the investigation, they could record the observations, discuss the findings and begin to write a conclusion.
After the investigation, the children then reviewed their designs and made any alterations from the results that they had collected.
Currently they are still in the stage of building their models. So far they have really thought about the materials to use and how they are going to attach them to ensure that they are secure. It has been brilliant to see how well they have all tried to listen and work together as this can be a challenging skill at any age. Keep it up Team GG, you are doing an incredible job.
