During this session, the children were developing a number of cricket skills. The first exercise involved working in teams of four where they were practising running in between the cones to then tap the line with the cricket bat before runnning in between the cones again. During the third week, the children began with developing their quick response with the cones through working with a partner. They had to listen carefully to the instructions given and could only pick the cone up when the word 'cone' was called out. The second exercise was practising their batting and fielding skills where they were split into two team, one fielding and one batting. During this activity, they had three balls to hit and the fielders had to wait until the final ball had been hit before they go could collect the balls. As they were fielding, the batting team could collect runs from running from wicket to wicket until all the balls had been returned ready for the next team member. After everyone had had a turn they swoped overThe children have been busy developing the skill of batting the ball and running to the wicket before moving onto the next team member. It is a quick version of the cricket game. They had to run whether they had hit the ball or not. With this in mind, they had to ensure that they had their running shoes on in order to get to the wicket before the ball did.
