Well Team CB, where would I even begin? It has been an absolute pleasure to have taught you this year and whilst our year may not have turned out the way we thought, I could not be more proud of each and every one of you! I have thoroughly loved life as part of the Spectacular Space Cadets and hope you have too. You have shown such fantastic work ethic and for this I hope you are very proud of yourselves.
With the Summer holidays just around the corner, I hope you take the time to have lots of fun, relax and enjoy time with your special people at home. That said, we are excited for you to be back with us in September and can't wait to see your smiling faces! I hope your summer is as magical as can be! Take care, Miss Baxter Some of you have been incredibly active over the course of home learning and it has been lovely to see. Last year, we participated in Beat the Street, which team Park Street thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately, this year, Beat the Street cannot take place in the same way that it did last year. Instead, Beat the Street have created a ‘Barnsley Summer Challenge’ to help keep you and your family active over the summer. If you would like to take part, the challenge begins next Monday (13th July). Take a look at the attachment that contains all the information you need. To those who are taking part, good luck! ![]()
For those children who are currently working from home and accessing our Seesaw home learning, some of you may have noticed some of your recent computing assignments have helped you learn all about different computing terminology through participating in games. Barefoot computing have created a series of interactive online games for you to work through whilst at home.
Why not take a look at some using the link below, I think you may really enjoy Asteroid Blaster or Code Cracking! Good luck! https://www.barefootcomputing.org/homelearning Whilst some of our team are still learning from home, I wanted to share with you an excellent timetable of activities that parents/carers may wish to do at home with our fabulous pupils. These are THRIVE based activities which have been designed to to help support and develop social and emotional development through the use of arts, craft and play. Attached is a timetable you may wish to work through - please note, there is no expectation that you complete the activities on a daily basis but they give varied suggestions around what you may wish to work on or towards. ![]()
Hi Team CB,
Next week marks 'Barnsley Virtual School Games Challenge'. The aim of the challenge is to provide you with the opportunity to virtually compete in a series of sporting based competitions against other students across Barnsley. Over five days, you will participate in five different events - one event per day. The aim is for you to record your personal best attempts for each activity. Further information on how you can participate will be made available to you shortly should you wish to rise to the challenge. David Walliams is a much loved author amongst our class and from our ten minute reads in class this year, I know you love the humour within his books and unique way in which he tells his stories. With this in mind, why not check out his wesbite where you can access Elevenses. This will give you the chance to listen to some of his funniest stories from home.
Should you want to take a listen, why not catch on this week's audio clips using the link below. https://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/elevenses-catch-up/ Over the coming days some of you may have been directed to the class blog to access the Poem Presentation to support your Literacy work. All you need is attached. Simply click the file below to get started. Once again, we find ourselves approaching another half term holiday. Sadly, the last half term has been anything other than our usual start to the Summer terms, but that said, I could not be more proud of each and every member of TEAM CB! Every child has worked hard to adjust to learning from home and this truly makes me burst with pride! I look forward to the day when we can all welcome back normality.
I truly hope that you all have a very well deserved half term holiday, where you can rest and relax with family and enjoy what will hopefully be some lovely sunshine! Stay safe and keep smiling, Miss Baxter :) Hi CB, Miss Garratt and Mr Fidment wanted to let you all know about a new Guinness World Record title - 'Highest score achieved on 'Time Tables Rock Stars' in one minute'. We know you love playing on Times Tables Rock Stars and what better way to get practicing your times tables by knowing YOU could become a Guinness World Record title holder. We think this is a fantastic incentive and would like to invite you all to take part. The letter attached explains how to participate and gives you the deadline for the event. For further information, you can also visit https://ttrockstars.com/page/gwr Good luck each and every one of you who decide to enter. ![]()
