TEAM JD

Hello, welcome to our class page. Here is our vision statement:

"Throughout this year, we will always aim to be respectful, kind and hard-working members of Wombwell Park Street. We will start each day with a smile on our faces and remain our joyful, enthusiastic selves even when things gets a bit tough. In order to reach our full potential, we promise to always persevere and be resilient to any challenges. We will strive to always succeed and be engaged in all aspects of our learning. In Team JD, we are a responsible and supportive class who will always encourage those around us. When asked to work together, we will listen thoughtfully to others views and be respectful of opinions. We feel that it is important to have excellent manners and treat others how we wish to be treated. Most importantly, we aim to enjoy our learning and have fun on our journey through Year 4."

Meet Our Team

Mr Davison

I am Mr Davison and I am currently the class teacher in Team JD. I have been fortunate enough to have trained here at Park Street and continued my journey here for the past two years. My aim at Park Street, with the help of my supportive colleagues, is to make sure all pupils feel safe, respected and happy. Team JD will be known Talented Troops this year and I am looking forward to the class demonstrating their enthusiasm and excitement in their learning!

I am Mrs Convery and I am currently one the teaching assistants in Team JD. I love my role in supporting the wonderful children in Team JD on a Monday and Tuesday. I have had the pleasure of working at Wombwell Park Street for a number of years.

Mrs Robinson

Hi, I am Mrs Robinson and I am a Teaching Assistant in the terrific Team JD. I love supporting our Talented Troops in all areas of their learning, especially when we get creative! I have just completed my first year at Wombwell Park Street and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of an amazingly supportive school community. In my spare time, I enjoy baking, sewing, playing cricket, cycling and lovely, long walks with my family and our dog.

What we learn about in Team JD

In the Autumn Term, we will be exploring the local area of Wombwell and how it compares to the seaside town of Whitby. We will create an interactive map of the landscape, landmarks and industry that that make up Wombwell and Whitby, as well as discovering the fascinating places and people that live within these communities!

Charging into the Spring Term, we will then take a trip back in time to develop our understanding of the myths and legends of the Ancient Greeks. We will explore what life was like as well as the wonderful tales of gods and monsters from this bygone civilisation. Make sure to check in with us at the start of the topic, when our classroom will be transported back in time, filled with artefacts from the Ancient Greeks. During this term, we will also be exploring what life was like for children during WW1 and how it compares to today.

In the Summer Term, our topic is called 'I'm A Teacher, Get Me Out Of Where?', which will form part of our science theme. From discovering exotic animals to exploring their amazing habitats, this term will be overflowing with exciting opportunities for Team JD to learn and grow!

The fun doesn’t end here though, as The Talented Troops are hugely enthusiastic and excited to learn how to play the Ukulele this year with Mr Kelly! What a wonderful opportunity. I’m sure the rest of school will thoroughly enjoy hearing the wonderful melodies we learn throughout the year!

With such an exciting and action-packed year ahead, I am thoroughly looking forward to a wonderful year bursting with lots of learning and plenty of creative opportunities for the children to showcase their development. Make sure you keep an eye out for any updates and photographs on the blog to see how we are getting on in Team JD!
