Hi Team JF, Please see the attached video Miss Garratt has created. It will give you some help in responding to activities I have posted on Seesaw. Hopefully, it might support you with completing activities and sending finished pieces back to me. Take care, Miss Fury

Hi Team JF,
As we come to the end of another week I thought I would send you a message to say that I hope you are all well and taking care. I hope you are keeping yourselves busy with home learning, helping your parents out around the house but also taking some time for yourselves. Remember that in a time like this you need to make sure you are doing a balance of activities to keep your minds healthy. Your health and well-being is the most important thing. Like yourselves, I too have been very busy. Alongside home schooling my little boy, I have been blogging lots of things on our class page for you to do and also making sure the Science page is up to date. As you know, I lead on this subject area and therefore it is my job to post on this page too. Some of you may have realised that I have been posting lots and lots of activities on our class page and may have found it quite difficult to keep up with all the work. That's okay! I would not expect you to get through everything I posted as I know I have blogged LOADS. However, I did want to make sure there was plenty on there and a range of subject areas for you to have a look at. My advice would be to try and have a go at a Maths and Literacy activity each day and then something that covers one or two other areas of the curriculum - just like we would do in school. As of Monday, I will do less blogging on the website as daily activities will be posted on Seesaw instead. This should be a lot more manageable for yourselves and it will help you to understand what I would like you to achieve on a daily basis. Of course, you are more than welcome to come back to our class blog if you would like to do some other activities that I have posted over the last couple of weeks but the tasks I would like you to complete each day will be posted on Seesaw. I hope this helps! Remember that tomorrow is Saturday and the start of the weekend so please take a break from school work, have some time to yourselves and spend some with your family. Family is the most important thing right now so please make the most of having your parents/carers/siblings around and do something fun together. Team JF, I hope you all have a lovely weekend. I am missing you all very much and I am looking forward to seeing you all soon. Thank you to all those who have kept in touch via the school email/twitter, it's been lovely to hear from you and has put a smile on my face. Take care of yourselves and family and stay safe. Thinking of you all and sending lots of love, Miss Fury x An activity from Miss Taylor (Art Lead):
What is an art journal? An art journal, is a visual diary that combines elements of writing, drawing, painting and collage. There are really no rules in art journaling, which means it’s a great place to express your personality and feelings. Below, are some ideas that you could include in your art journal. You can create your art journal using a plain paper notebook, alternatively you can use plain paper and staple these together. Parents- If you would like to share any of your child’s artwork please share this through Twitter or via the school email. All websites/videos will need careful monitoring from parents due to some topic content and links to other sites, so please be mindful of this. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHnq2MWPZjA www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNzVn0BF9Ow www.youtube.com/watch?v=vY49eNceLBo www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ix-V4YglAQ Good morning! Please check out the learning pack below to begin our new french unit 'All About Me'. There are lots of resources to support your learning, however, if you need assistance please contact me. Happy Friday! Miss Fury x
As a school, we are committed to ensuring your child gets the best possible education that we can offer. The current circumstances are proving to be a bit of a challenge for us all and we know that education is quite difficult at the moment whilst we are facing this pandemic. With this in mind, we have subscribed to the online platform ‘SeeSaw’. SeeSaw is a platform that allows teachers to set home learning for each child in their class. Over the next few days, you will be receiving an email (with an attachment of the document below) that provides you with more information about how Seesaw works and how we are going to use it as a school. You will also receive your child's log on details in this email. Please look out for this arriving in your inboxes. As of Monday 27th April 2020, all learning and activities will be placed on Seesaw and not on class blog pages. Although we will continue to post blogs regularly, we will not be using them to the extent that we have done over the past few weeks, Many thanks for your cooperation and understanding.
Life and parenting can be challenging in normal situations. The situation we find ourselves in currently is far from normal. We have put together a number of useful links and documents, as well as advice on how to deal with some difficult situations you might find ourselves in. Please take a look at the information below and do not hesitate to contact school if you would like any additional information regarding these topics or anything else you need advice and support about - if we cannot help, we will know who can.
Good morning Team JF! St. George’s Day, celebrated on the 23rd April each year, is a religious holiday celebrated by Christian churches to represent the Feast of Saint George. To mark this occasion, please complete 1 or 2 of the activities below.
Network Rail has contacted all primary school to ask teachers to pass on a message for parents and pupils about the danger of children playing on or near rail tracks. Please follow the link below for an important video lesson on rail safety. Keep yourselves safe! Stay away from rail tracks!
learnliveuk.com/network-rail-primary-school-safety-talk/ As it is the start of a new term our topic has a new focus. This term, our focus has moved from 'Through the Ages' to 'Famous Faces in Science'.
During this topic, we get the chance to explore many different elements of science and the people behind the amazing inventions. As an introduction, create a mind map of any famous inventors you know about or have heard of. When you have done this, choose the one you are most interested in and create your own fact file about them. This may include their early life, where they studied, their journey to success and family life. Remember to set it out using clear headings and you could even include a fun facts section! If you are feeling really creative, why not create your own model of their invention or a labelled diagram to show how it works. I'd love to see your finished products, feel free to email them over! Miss Fury :) Did you know that today is 'World Earth Day'? 'This is the day and time of year to focus on ways every one of us can learn more about how amazing our world is and how important it is that we act to stop climate change and look after our planet.' Here are some websites for you to take a look at. They have some fun activities to try. https://www.hamilton-trust.org.uk/blog/world-earth-day/ https://www.twinkl.co.uk/event/earth-day-2020
