Literacy
This week in Team JF we have continued learning about poetry and the features of a poem. We have used the book Commotion in the Ocean as inspiration for our own pieces. During the week we have unpicked the features used and started to develop our own key words or phrases to use in our writing next week. The children had great fun choosing the sea creatures they would be using and thinking of rhyming words to go with them. The plans they have produced are fabulous and I look forward to reading the finished poems! Maths This week in Team JF we have been developing our knowledge of fractions. We initially focused on finding a fraction of a set of objects with practical resources, paired work and lots of discussion. From this, we moved into finding a fraction of a number using the practical skills previously used . This was a challenging task, however, the children demonstrated great resilience and a fantastic 'can do' attitude towards their learning.
