First thought when you think of children's books? Mine will always be Roald Dahl. His fantastic ability to create stories which engross, captivate and leave young readers wanting more, is simply undeniable. With that in mind, why not check out the Roald Dahl website if you have a spare moment. They have some fantastic videos, lesson plans and activities to engage our young readers and writers.

Wanting a little more guidance and support around how the Read, Write, Inc program works? Why not check out the following link, it offers parents excellent guides to support their understanding of Read, Write, Inc as well as ebooks, green word slide shows and phonics practice sheets.
As you are aware, phonics is a key part of the EYFS and Year 1 curriculum. We are delighted that the Read Write Inc. team have announced that they will be doing live speedy sounds phonics sessions. These are available to stream on YouTube using the following link:
They will release three short Speed Sound lessons with one of our trainers every day for the next two weeks. The films will only be available at the times below:
They're also releasing a film of a poem for Reception and Year 1 children to join in with at 2.00 pm every day. The poems will be available on YouTube to watch again and again.
This will be a fantastic opportunity for your child to continue to develop their knowledge of sounds and also use the sound cards sent home in your child's home learning pack!
