This half term, Team CB have been working really hard to develop their skills in writing. We have spent time completing work linked to our “Acclaimed Author” Roald Dahl. We explored different settings that Roald Dahl has created and used grammatical devices such as expanded noun phrases in our writing to describe a familiar setting. We worked on our use of senses as well as beginning to explore what fronted adverbials are and how these can add detail to our writing. We have also focussed on poetry and have created our own free verse poems linked to Mountains and Rivers. For this we looked at a clear poem structure of adjectives, nouns, verbs and adverbs. We also introduced the concept of imagery through similes, metaphor, alliteration, personification and onomatopoeia.
