Did you know today is International Literacy Day? The event is an annual awareness day held each year on the 8th of September which marks the importance of Literacy to all countries and cultures. Whilst we are always promoting and practicing our Literacy skills across school, today our students will gain an insight into more of what this day represents and why Literacy is so important.
From reading to writing, our pupils are constantly developing and broadening their application of Literacy-based learning and should be immensely proud of the hard work they put in to harnessing new skills. So, why not celebrate International Literacy Day in a way that your child best enjoys? Perhaps you could share your favourite story with your child before bed tonight and explain what made you fall in love with the book? Maybe you could create your own 'unexpected end to the day' story around the dinner table? Or why not enjoy some digital Literacy online. Dig deeper into some of your child's favourite genres through BBC Bitesize using the link below: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/subjects/zv48q6f Happy International Literacy Day!
