Mr Holmes 

Class Teacher 
Hello, My name is Mr Holmes and I am extremely excited to be teaching a mixed year group for the first time in my career.
I have worked at Park Street as a teaching assistant, a cover suporvisor and now as a teacher. Previously, I have spent four years as a pure year one teacher but now it is time for a change!
I really enjoy teaching RWI and have shared in much success in this area.  While at school I support in the teaching of RE and Maths.
When I'm not at school I enjoy cooking and spending time with my two girls.

What do we learn about in Team CH?

We have an integrated curriculum and each term we cover a different area. Our Topics at a glance for the following academic year will be:

Autumn Term - Comparing Wombwell to South America 
Spring Term - Stone age, Iron age and Romans 
Summer Term - What do plants and animals need to be healthy

Key events in Team CH

Daily - Reading books to be stamped
Monday/Wednesday- PE  
Monday - spellings 
Thursday -  Previous week's homework to be handed in.
Friday - New homework sent out (Maths Focus)

Please note that Team CH has set PE days. However, occasionally due to busy timetables and changes in weather conditions, these times may be flexible. We politely request that PE kits are brought to school on a Monday and taken home for washing on a Friday.

PE Kits
Children's PE kits need to be in a named bag and should include: dark shorts or leggings, white T shirt, pumps or trainers for outdoor use (preferably that the children can fasten themselves) and also clothing suitable for outdoor wear such and tracksuit/jogging bottoms and a jacket or top if the weather turns colder. We do try to have at least one PE session outdoors so it is important that children have the correct clothing. Could we please also ask that earrings are removed on these days unless the children are able to do so themselves.
