Hello, welcome to our class page, we are Team CB. Here is our class agreement:

In Team CB we will be ready, reliable and resilient when it is time for learning. We will be honest about the help we need and if we have made a mistake because the truth is important. We will make sure we are gentle towards each other. In our class it will be important to include all our friends in our games so that everyone feels special. We will be good listeners and make time to hear what our friends say and accept when they have a different point of view to us. We will look after our equipment and keep our classroom clean and tidy. We will be sensible in our environment and treat each other with kindness. Most importantly, we will be hardworking and always try our best at everything we do. We will aim to always be INCREDIBLE!

Meet Our Team

Miss Baxter

My name is Miss Baxter, class teacher for Year 3. I have spent the last eight years at Wombwell Park Street and have loved every minute of it. Currently, I am KS2 Literacy Lead and Junior Reading Lead.

I am very excited to be working with such a fantastic group of children this year, and I hope to bring some exciting opportunities to the classroom.. My goal is to see children fully engaged and immersed in their learning to allow each and every child to reach their full potential.

I enjoy teaching all curriculum areas but I most enjoy creating awe and wonder in the
classroom through a compelling Literacy focus. I aim to share such experiences with the children throughout the upcoming year as we work together to create many wonderfully imaginative pieces of writing.

Outside of school, I enjoy time with my family, including my two little boys Beau and Arlo! I love going on adventures to share new experiences with the children. If we aren't out exploring, chances are I’m cooking some tasty treats to eat!
 

Miss Hanson

 Hi my name is Miss Hanson and I am the Teaching Assistant in Team CB. 

What will our learning journey look like?

We will embark on a historical journey to begin the autumn term, learning more about the Stone, Bronze, and Iron Ages, including their chronology. Our primary focus in history this term will be on tribes,  farming and hunter gatherers. Once we have concluded this, we will then look at who the Romans were. This will include learning about the expansion of their empire and  invasions.

We will be comparing Brazil, which is a country in South America, to Wombwell during the Spring Term. The class will be exploring the climate and weather in this country as well as considering physical and human geography features. Throughout the course of this topic we will be making great use of our map skills as we learn more about life elsewhere.

During the Summer Term, we will investigate what plants and animals need to be healthy. We will consider what we need to keep us well and the different conditions that plants and animals need in order to thrive.

Dates for the Diary!

Monday - New spellings set
Tuesday - Indoor PE.
Thursday - Outdoor PE.
Friday - Previous week's homework due and new homework distributed.
Spelling test. 
​Weekly tables race.


Please note that Team CB has set PE days. However, occasionally due to busy timetables and changes in weather conditions, these times may be flexible. We politely request that PE kits are brought to school on a Monday and taken home for washing on a Friday
