MEET THE TEAM

Mrs Firth

Class Teacher
Hello and welcome to our class page. I am Mrs Firth, Team LF Class Teacher, as well as Maths, Computing, Online Safety, PE and School Council Lead. I am very excited to be working with a fantastic group of children. I have a passion for teaching  maths but I love to bring new and fresh ideas to the classroom in all subject areas. When I’m not at school I love to spend my time with my little boy. I also enjoy reading, swimming and being amongst friends.

Mrs Sykes

Class Teaching Assistant
Hi, my name is Mrs Sykes. I grew up in Wombwell, attending both Park Street and Wombwell High School. This is my fourth year working at Park Street as a teaching assistant in Year 4/5 and my third year as a cover supervisor. In my spare time I love to spend time with my family and friends. I also love to read and go on bike rides with my family.

Mrs Greenhalgh

Class Teaching Assistant
Hello, my name is Mrs Greenhalgh. I have worked at Park Street for a number of years now, a job which I enjoy so much. It's lovely to see the children gain confidence as they grow throughout school. I am lucky enough to work as a Teaching Assistant and SMSA at lunch time. On Tuesdays, I support Mrs Stevens at garending/craft club. In my spare times I love reading and gardening. 

Key events in Team LF

Wednesday - Indoor PE
Thursday - Reading stamps collected
Thursday -Outdoor PE/Swimming
Friday - Spelling test, weekly arithmetic test
Friday - Homework given out and previous week's homework handed in.

Please note that Team LF has set PE days. However, occasionally due to busy timetables and changes in weather conditions, these times may be flexible. We politely request that PE kits are brought to school on a Monday and taken home for washing on a Friday.

What do we learn about in Team LF?

In Team LF we aim to have lots of fun and show great enthusiasm in everything we do. Throughout the year we focus on three integrated curriculum topics which cover Geography, History and Science. To support our learning with the National Curriculum, each term we will be investigating a different enquiry based question.

Autumn Term: How does Whitby compare to Wombwell?
Spring Term: What was life like for children in Wombwell during WW1? Who were the Ancient Greeks?
Summer Term: I'm A Teacher, Get Me Out of Where?
